Emirates Group owned business technology provider Mercator has recently successfully gone live with its product SkyChain in Latin America.
SkyChain is a specialised IT solution aimed at airline cargo companies and is designed to maximise customers' performance, help them raise their service quality and optimise their resources. A highly automated system, which removes many of the time-consuming paper processes in the business, SkyChain is compliant with the latest industry developments, including IATA’s e-freight initiative. TACA now joins a growing family of users including Swiss World Cargo, Sri Lankan Airways and Emirates SkyCargo.
TACA selected Mercator as a provider for their ability to meet the functional and technical requirements of its business model, help them align their business and systems strategy and differentiate TACA’s product from the competition.
Dante O. Klüver, Director, TACA Cargo said: “TACA was looking to reassess its IT core systems functionality to enable a successful implementation of its long term strategy. We are very pleased that Mercator was able to work with us so successfully on this solution. We are confident about the positive impact SkyChain will have on our ability to deliver the level of service our customers have grown to expect from us. Information will be more easily shared, more accurate and we believe, improve the productivity of our team.”
Duncan Alexander, Vice President, Sales and Market Development, Mercator said: "We were delighted to be asked to provide SkyChain’s many benefits to TACA. In turn they brought with them knowledge and experience of their own local air freight market, enabling us to create a tailor made solution for them. One of SkyChain’s many benefits is its ability to host multiple airlines within the same group – making it perfect for TACA. These airlines can then share critical information, bringing substantial benefits in terms of organisational synergies and cost advantages.
