American Eagle awards three-year contract to WFS

  03.02.2010

American Eagle has awarded a three-year contract to Worldwide Flight Services to provide passenger services at three airports in North and South Dakota.
The new contract, effective April 6th 2010, will see WFS providing passenger services, cabin cleaning and ramp operations for American Eagle at Fargo, Sioux Falls and Rapid City regional airports.
American Eagle will serve over 125,000 passengers a year at the three airports, offering flights to Dallas Fort Worth and Chicago. In peak season, it will operate up to 80 flights a week from the North and South Dakota airports, which are all new additions to the airline’s domestic network.
Ed Jacob, American Eagle’s Regional Managing Director, said: “The WFS bid reflected the state of the business today and the need for finely tuned economics. They have provided us with a very competitive rate on which we expect to build a solid foundation in each of these stations. We look forward to developing this relationship to provide superlative service to meet our customers’ needs.”
WFS already provides handling services for American Eagle in Montreal, Halifax and Ottawa in Canada, and Montrose, Colorado in the US.
Glenn Rutkowski, Senior VP Passenger Terminal Services at WFS, added: “The award of these stations reflects our growing presence in the regional airport markets and our establishment as the premier provider of quality services. We are grateful to American Eagle for their trust in us and look forward to further developing our relationship with them.”
