Fahrzeugwerk Bernard Krone GmbH has expanded its present manufacturing program of close truck bodies to include the new Cool Carrier. These close fixed truck bodies are available both in the tried and tested Duoplex GFK as well as in the Duoplex Steel variant. The customer can select between a 45 mm thick flower stem length and a refrigerated truck body with up to 60 mm thick sideboards. Krone has many varieties of box lengths. Krone offers close fixed truck body lengths in steps of ten centimetres from 6100 mm to 10600 mm.
“We wish to meet market demand in the close fixed truck body product sector and fulfil the varying demands of our customers”, comments Ingo Geerdes, sales director for box type trucks. This is also reflected in the extensive range of furnishings on offer. Close fixed truck bodies are available in either the Multi Temp or Double Decker models.
In regards to the load securing system, Krone close fixed trunk bodies are fitted with the latest state-of-the-art furnishings and designed for a variety of uses. The new Krone solution for a load securing system, is unique in the world. The use of continuous load restraints in the lower sideboard areas combined with the separate lashing strips between the two-tier rails, offer the truck body structures a distinct advantage in lashing possibilities for securing the cargo.
Besides the conventional ratchet system, the close fixed truck bod-ies can also be fitted with the Vario Lock System. It has been de-veloped specifically for the transport of flowers. The practice-oriented cargo securing system Vario Lock, is easy to use and enables the quick and hassle-free loading and unloading of cargo. The vertical ratchets can be placed in each of the four aluminium-perforated rails that run from the front bulkhead to the rear and are fixed on the floor as well as on the inner side of the roof panels. This enables the stable and secure transport of roller containers for flowers, amongst others.
The sideboards can be easily cleaned and repaired. The water-proof, 125 mm thick floor is welded directly to the full-length lateral angle, thus forming a tub. Additionally, reinforcements at the rear end permit high forklift truckloads, as proven by the test according to CSC/EN 283.
The LED interior lights, together with cables, are integrated into the roof panel and are well protected from damage.
The tow vehicle, as well as the trailer can be fitted with a tailgate lift. An extendable drawbar on the trailer permits through loading. This in turn makes the ramp side loading of the trailer possible without having to uncouple the trailer. The solid buffer elements on the tail section of the tow vehicle and trailer are provided to keep the vehicle and the structure free of damage during ramp-side loading. Reversing cameras can be installed as an optional extra. The electrical loading facility is provided in the truck body, by way of sockets for independent electric supply.
