In the first half of 2010, turnover of Deutsche Bahn's freight operation grew 23.2% to EUR 6.75bn (USD 8.76bn). The unit comprises DB Schenker Logistics and DB Schenker Rail.
Road transport in Europe grew 14.6% to 39.4 million truck shipments. Sea freight grew 23.1% to 800,000 TEU and air freight 28.6% to 587,000 tonnes.
Rail transport increased 19.4% to EUR 2.268bn. In terms of tonne-kilometres, it grew 14.9% to 50.9bn, according to Logistics Finland.
