Italian ferry operator, Grimaldi is negotiating the lease of its Coraggio ferry to the Swedish company Stena. The ship, to be delivered in September 2010, will have a 3,000m garage that can hold up to 1,000 cars, a capacity of 900 people, and can reach a speed of 25 knots. The firm is also negotiating the lease of the Forza ship, that could be given to another Scandinavian company, and of Energia, a ship that should be delivered in October. Grimaldi is opting for rental options between 12 and 16 months, to be able to exploit the price increase that could be reached in 2011. As for new ships, the firm will focus on larger units with 3,500m garage and a speed of 25 knots, likely to be built in Italy.
