DFDS sees revenues up 18.4%
The Danish port terminal and ro-ro company DFDS saw revenues increase by 18.4% in the second quarter of 2010 to DKK 1.95bn (EUR 261.78mn USD 330.68mn), according to Logistics Finland. DFDS saw its EBITDA increase 48.3% to DKK 345mn, while pre-tax profits increased from DKK 36mn in the second quarter of 2009 to DKK 140mn in the second quarter of 2010. The company saw revenue from ro-ro activities up 19.7% to DKK 917mn, while container shipping activities increased 1.7% to be worth DKK 291mn. Niels Smedegaard put the company's strong results down to more efficient operations and an increase in freight volumes. For 2010 as a whole the company expects to see a pre-tax profit of DKK 275mn.
