‘Polish Airports’ nominated for a prestigious award

‘Polish Airports’ State Enterprise (PPL) was nominated for a Ruban d’Honneur in the prestigious European Business Awards competition. The operator of Warsaw Chopin Airport was chosen as one of 25 companies to represent Poland.
Launched in 2006, European Business Awards is an independent awards programme designed to recognise and promote best practice and innovation in the European business community. The awards are given in eight categories: business of the year, entrepreneur of the year, award for innovation, import/export, customer focus, international growth strategy of the year, employer of the year and corporate and environmental sustainability.
The competition consists of three stages. First the judges select 25 companies to represent each participating country in further stages. Next, a group of companies are given a Ruban d’Honneur. From among this group final winners are selected.
PPL has entered the competition for the first time. “It is a great honour for us to be selected as one of the National Representatives in our debut. It is a recognition of the high-quality of services provided by our airport,” says Michał Marzec, PPL’s general director.
“The European Business Awards offer an opportunity for dynamic and innovative companies to present their achievements and successes on an international stage. Today we need companies that are not afraid to take bold business decisions and invest in innovative solutions, companies which set an example. Our competition is an excellent chance for the best European companies to earn the recognition they deserve,” says Adrian Tripp, Chief Executive of the European Business Awards.
In the previous edition of EBA one hundred Ruban d’Honneur titles were given to companies with a total turnover of 776 billion euro and 3.5 million employees. European Business Awards are sponsored by HSBC. In Poland the programme is run under the patronage of the National Chamber of Commerce.
