Emirates Holidays celebrates Copenhagen launch with attractive offers

  15.08.2011

Emirates recently launched daily flights to Copenhagen, opening up a new gateway into Scandinavia. In conjunction with this new route, Emirates Holidays – the tour operating arm of Emirates airline, is offering special holiday packages to the land of the Vikings and Hans Christian Andersen.
“With the new Emirates link to Copenhagen, Emirates Holidays now offers travellers even more choice to explore and discover this must-see destination, with attractive holiday packages,” said Frederic Bardin, Senior Vice President, Emirates Holidays.  “A country full of history that forms a delightful backdrop to its modern charm, Denmark further adds to Emirates Holidays’ already wide range of over 100 destinations. It is a picturesque getaway with a diverse appeal to suit the preferences of culture-enthusiasts, families and honeymooners.”

In the land of the Vikings and more
The maritime nation of Denmark, the smallest and the most southerly of the Scandinavian countries – boasts a wealth of attractions – turreted castles, historic towns, open-air folk museums, Viking sites, numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites and stunning modern architecture.
Copenhagen is a charming city dominated by beautiful historical buildings and church spires that dot the skyline. Most of Copenhagen’s historical and cultural attractions are concentrated in the city centre and can easily be explored on foot. Parks and gardens abound, including the famous Tivoli Gardens – an eclectic mix of exotic architecture, restaurants, open-air stages – set among lawns, lakes trees and flowers. Along the waterfront are pretty houses, cafes and the famed statue of the Little Mermaid. Along winding cobbled streets, visitors can indulge in some of the most exciting gastronomic delights in Europe. Copenhagen’s restaurants have more Michelin stars than any other Scandinavian city.
Travelling on Emirates Holidays, visitors can avail of attractive offers. Stay at the Copenhagen Admiral Hotel starting from AED 5,140 per person, or at the Tivoli Hotel starting from AED 5,120 per person – for three nights with American breakfast. The prices are based on twin-sharing and include return Economy Class flights, Dubai/Copenhagen/Dubai.  The above packages also include a full-day excursion on seat-in coach basis, to some of southern Sweden’s attractions.

A taste of Sweden
The journey takes guests through Ǿresund Bridge that links Denmark and Sweden, arriving near Malmö, Sweden’s third largest city. Other attractions along the way include Malmöhus, Scandinavia’s oldest surviving renaissance-era castle, and Stortorget Square, and Lund – an attractive university town to visit a 12th century cathedral with its magnificent astronomical clock. The excursion continues on to Lake Bosjon and the 16th century Bosjokloster Convent, before travelling on to the seafront town of Helsingborg where guests board a ferry for the 20-minute crossing of the Ǿresund Bridge to the Danish town of Helsingør.  The return journey to Copenhagen follows the picturesque road along the coast known as the ‘Danish Riviera’.
