Le Havre port has been acknowledged as the "Best European Seaport" for the second year running by Cargonews Asia. The award was presented at a ceremony in Shanghai recently to Mr Hervé Martel, Chairman of the Management Board of Grand Port maritime du Havre, by Mr Sean Wall, Deputy Managing Director of DHL International Air Courier, in the presence of major Asian stakeholders.
The choice was made by top transport and logistics professionals who are readers of the publication. Le Havre was selected from among eight major European ports, according to Exim News Service.
"I wish to thank all Asian actors of the shipping and logistics world who made the choice, for the second year running, to reaffirm their confidence in us and thus prove that we bring a real added value to our customers throughout the world," said Mr Martel. "This confirmation of the service quality… is great pride for my teams and for the whole port community, as they have their efforts rewarded on the international shipping scene. Our actions bear fruit. Our ambitions now go beyond, within the scope of the new dynamic move inspired by Haropa: the top French port complex grouping together the ports of Le Havre, Rouen and Paris," he added.
