L&T Shipbuilding has bagged orders worth Rs 483 crore from the Qatar-based Halul Offshore Services Company to build four specialised commercial vessels, according to Exim News Service.
It is learnt that the orders are for design, construction and commissioning of two platform supply vessels (PSVs) and two anchor handling, towing, supply and support vessels (AHTSSVs).
L&T will be required to equip the PSVs for firefighting, rescue and standby, offshore supply and oil recovery, and provide the vessels with diesel-electric propulsion and DP2 dynamic positioning capability.
The AHTSSVs, to possess a bollard pull of 90 tonnes, will also be equipped for emergency response and rescue, offshore supply and oil recovery.
L&T has a shipbuilding facility at Hazira on the West Coast and a shipyard-cum-port complex at Kattupalli, near Chennai, on the East Coast.
