China Cargo Airlines plans to join the SkyTeam Cargo
China Cargo Airlines (CCA), China's first and largest all-cargo air carrier, plans to join the SkyTeam Cargo next year, the world's largest air freight alliance to expand its international network, reports Xinhua.
Joining SkyTeam Cargo is in line with China Cargo Airlines' long-term interests, said the airline's general manager Zhu Yiminhe, adding that the company can learn from member airlines and better cope with fierce competition as part of an alliance.
China Cargo Airlines was established in 1998 and is a joint venture between China Eastern Airlines and China Ocean Shipping Company. It has 19 aircraft and operates 16 cargo routes to 20 major cities over the world, including Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, Paris and Milan.
SkyTeam Cargo was founded in 2000 and has nine member airlines throughout the world. China Southern Airlines joined the alliance in 2010.
