Emirates inaugurates new in-house government services for employees

The Emirates Group has officially inaugurated the addition of three new Government services within its UAE headquarters including; the Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Police and through Emirates Post, UAE ID Card, making it the first company within the UAE to offer all three facilities in-house to its employees and their families.
His Highness (H.H.) Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group today formally opened the new facilities, located within the company’s headquarters. Joining Sheikh Ahmed, as part of the official opening, was Major General Khamis Mattar bin Mazinah, Deputy Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, His Excellency Khalid Al Sheikh Mubarak, Deputy Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, Major General Ahmad Bin Thani, General Manager Airports Security, Abdulla Mohammad Al Ashram, CEO of Emirates Post and Nasser Bin Kherbash, Divisional Senior Vice President HR Development and Employee Services.
As an employer of over 43,000 staff in the UAE alone, Emirates has worked closely with these Government departments to help streamline both the joining formalities and visa renewal process for its workforce.
“Initiatives such as this are just another example of how The Emirates Group continues to lead the way in regards to employee satisfaction. Our employees are our greatest asset and it has always been important to us to ensure that they are effectively catered for. With the help and support of Dubai Police, the Dubai Health Authority and Emirates Post these new services will further aid our employee growth, helping us to reach our own projected growth goals,” said Sheikh Ahmed. 
Functions available for Emirates employees within these new services include; x-ray examinations and blood tests for staff visa applications and renewals at the Dubai Health Authority counter, clearance of an employee’s ‘Good Conduct Certificate’ through Dubai Police and full application formalities for the mandatory UAE ID Card, provided by Emirates Post.
“In the last financial year we have had over 9,400 new joiners to the company and this figure will only continue to increase as we expand our global footprint. Bringing these services in-house will both generate efficiencies and abridge our joining processes,” added Sheikh Ahmed.
It is expected that in excess of 200 employees and their families new will utilise these Government services on a daily basis. In addition to these new services The Emirates Group already has a fully equipped Employee Service Centre in its headquarters that brings together core departmental services in one convenient location.
