West Bengal is keen to pick up an equity stake in the Centre’s proposed Major Port to be set up in the state.The site for the port is yet to be finalised, sources said.
It may be recalled that the Shipping Minister, Mr G. K. Vasan, had announced that the Ministry would establish new Major Ports in Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal as part of a maritime agenda to ramp up port infrastructure by 2020, according to Exim News Service.
