Emirates Aviation College receives KHDA academic attestation

  09.07.2012

Emirates Aviation College (EAC), the institution of choice for higher education in Aviation Studies, has received attestation of its programmes from Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA),  the regulatory authority of the Government of Dubai which supports schools, universities, training institutes and other human resource sectors. Announced in June 2012, Law 8 ensures that graduates of EAC’s programmes are able to use their qualifications for all purposes in Dubai’s public and private sectors.
In a ceremony held at KHDA, Dr Ahmad Al Ali, vice-chancellor of Emirates Aviation College,  was presented with the official certificate of academic authorisation. The College is one of the first government-owned higher educational institutes outside the free zones to receive KHDA attestation under Law 8.
This attestation applies as of June 2012 and pertains to all vocational qualifications and licensed programmes in Aeronautical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Avionics Engineering, Business Management, Tourism Management and Airport and Airline Operations.
“KHDA’s mission to assure quality and improve accessibility to education, learning and human development, with the engagement of the community, perfectly represents the goals of EAC,” said Dr. Ahmad Al Ali, Vice-Chancellor, Emirates Aviation College. “At EAC, we are focused on providing the best education possible in order to meet the future needs of the UAE and of the aviation industry. When the official law was declared, we immediately acted to obtain attestation of our programmes and we commend the Government of Dubai for taking this step towards ensuring the legitimacy of degrees conferred by educational institutes.”
Dr Abdulla Al Karam, chairman of the board of directors and director general of KHDA, said: “Institutions such as Emirates Aviation College, which offer a wide range of programmes targeted towards specific industries, have made great achievements in delivering high quality, internationally accredited qualifications to Emiratis. Law 8 will be of significant benefit to graduates in Dubai, and will do much to encourage greater numbers of students to complete programmes offered by these institutions.”
The attestation of degrees provides graduates with quality assurance of their degrees and guarantees employers that applicants’ education is of high quality. Upon the issuance of the law, EAC worked closely with KHDA on the attestation process, completing the necessary permit and quality assurance requirements in relation to the programmes being offered.
Emirates Aviation College is also an approved education provider by  the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and is accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
