FedEx adds two 777F cargo flights from Shanghai, Guangzhou to Cologne

FedEx Express has commenced two additional Boeing 777 Freighter routes in Asia Pacific that fly five times a week to connect Shanghai and Guangzhou in China to the company's European hub in Cologne.
The company said it is the first time it has launched a direct flight from its Asia Pacific hub in Guangzhou to Europe using the 777F, the world's largest twin-engine cargo aircraft with a revenue payload capacity of 178,000 pounds that can fly 5,800 nautical miles non-stop.
"FedEx is committed to anticipating global trade trends and providing unparalleled connectivity to customers," said Asia Pacific president David Cunningham.
The company is the first global, US-based, all-cargo freight airline to add the 777F to its fleet. Its first 777F service was introduced to Shanghai in early 2010 to connect the thriving mainland city to its main Memphis hub. Later that year, other 777F routes connecting Hong Kong, Osaka and Shenzhen with Memphis were launched.
With the commencement of these two latest 777F routes in China, it now operates seven 777F routes connecting Asia Pacific to the US and Europe, according to the Shipping Gazette.
