Los Angeles port recently announced that it handled 696,847 TEUs in June, up 8.75 per cent over the same month of 2011.
The first half of the year also experienced a 6.45 per cent year-on-year rise to 4.01 million TEUs from 3.76 million TEUs last June.
Import volumes rose six per cent in June 2012 to 353,930 TEUs from 333,894 TEUs in the same period of 2011. Export volumes also grew 6.9 per cent to 174,418 TEUs this June compared to 163,137 TEUs.
