ADB will for the first time showcase its entire range of high quality end to end airfield solutions at the upcoming Interairport Beijing event between September 26 to 28.
On display will be a comprehensive range of airfield solutions showing ADB’s dominance in this area including state of the art airfield lighting products locally manufactured in ADB’s Tainjin plant in China and an innovative green airport solutions portfolio to help reduce customers’ environmental footprints.
“Our state of the art green portfolio is a perfect fit for airports across Asia Pacific that are increasingly focusing on environment friendly practices,” said Christian Onselaere, CEO, ADB. “In fact, seeing the appetite of regional airports for eco-friendly solutions, we are taking necessary steps to localize manufacturing. A year from start-up, products from our China plant already enjoy considerable traction in the region and internationally as well. Hardly surprising that the country has emerged into an essential cog in our regional and global growth strategy.”
ADB will display its complete LED** product range covering all functions for the taxiway and runway areas. A highlight will be the new AD-lights, a crucial component of the green airport solution that are highly energy-efficient, and can reduce power consumption by up to 70%.
Other products will include Advanced Power Supply, an alternative power supply for airfield ground lighting with pulse width modulation*** to enable direct control of the lights, Solar Powered low intensity lights, the ALCS remote control system that makes efficient use of energy by switching the lights on only where and when needed and the Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) based constant current regulator that helps improve efficiency and decrease electricity consumption because of its low harmonic distortion.****
These products are on display at the Interairport Show 2012 in Beijing, at ADB’s booth number 322 in the China International Exhibition Center. Visitors to the booth can meet with ADB experts to understand how to operate in a more eco-friendly manner. They can also calculate their profits using the web-based green efficiency calculator.
Now in its 10th year, Interairport Beijing is China’s largest international exhibition for airport equipment, technology, design and services.
Notes:
* In May 2011, ADB inaugurated its third manufacturing plant in Tainjin, China. Tianjin produces ADB’s portfolio of lights, signs, regulators and systems, supplying not only the Chinese market but also the whole Asia Pacific region, India, Russia, Brazil and other emerging economies. Refer to full press release here.
** LED: ADB’s LED products are highly reliable, consume less energy, have lower maintenance costs and are compatible with the 6.6A series circuit.
***Pulse Width Modulation: A commonly used technique for controlling power to inertial electrical devices, made practical by modern electronic power switches.
***Total Harmonic Distortion (THD): is used to characterize the power quality of electric power systems. THD of a signal is a measurement of the harmonic distortion present and is defined as the ratio of the sum of the powers of all harmonic components to the power of the fundamental frequency.
