The Board of Trustees of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) has awarded the contract for the development of a standalone container handling facility, having quay length of 330-m towards the North, to DP World Pvt. Ltd, according to Exim News Service.
The concession period is for 17 years on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis. The capacity of the terminal is 0.8 million TEUs.
DP World, which already operates the NSICT terminal at JNPT, has agreed to a gross revenue share of 28.09 per cent.
The Letter of Award was issued to DP World on Wednesday (October 31). The Concession Agreement has to be signed within 30 days from the date of Letter of Award. The maximum construction period for the project will be 24 months from the date of award of concession, the release disclosed.
Meanwhile, the long-pending dredging is well on its way at the Port.
